Meet Rick Beam —General Manager
Rick’s passion for motorcycles began when he was 9 years old. In 1980, with the help of a friend he built his first custom bike. In 1991, he opened his own parts shop in Manilla, Iowa and became Chrome Specialties (a major distributor), # 1 seller in the state for 3 out of 4 years. In 1995, Rick was recruited to help launch Chandler Custom Cycles (CCC) and has been an integral part of its success. Since building his first bike in 1980, Rick had built or assisted in the construction of many custom bikes and has helped countless customers personalize their motorcycle of choice. In 2006, Rick and the CCC team built Single Minded a cutting-edge bike featured in Hot Bike Magazine. The 2006 Diamond Bike was another CCC masterpiece featured in 2009 in V-Twin and Easy Rider Magazine for its sleek lines and attention to detail. Rick has also developed strong relations with customers, vendors, subcontractors and other local shops. These people often look to Rick when seeking unique or hard to find parts; for advance diagnostics for troubleshooting problems and for finding creative solutions when text book solutions don’t work.
Meet Rodney (Rod) McDowell – Chief Technician
Rod joined the CCC Team in 2001 while putting himself through the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) School. In 2002, and to no surprise, Rod graduated top of his class. Long before Rod stepped into an MMI classroom, he spent many hours working in his garage tinkering and finding creative solutions to keep his and his friend’s bikes on the road. At the age of 18, Rod began working on motorcycles. Highly influenced by his father and circle of friends, Rod listened and learned how to fix his own bike. Because of his skills, it was not long before he started fixing bikes for others as well. Rod has been riding motorcycles since he was 10 and has watched the motorcycle industry evolve over the years. As Harley transitions to lighter weight bikes with cutting edge technology, Rod is prepared to grow with those changes while retaining the skills to maintain and preserve the bikes of old. Rod has a personal fondness for building Swedish Style Choppers but is enthusiastic about helping others fulfill their dreams of building any style of bike.
Hugo Robles – CEO
On December 1st, 2018 Hugo purchased Chandler Custom Cycles (CCC) from Harold Fischer. After 20 years of growing and building CCC into a reputable local shop, Harold was ready to retire. Recognizing the vast customer base and the strong internal talent in the staff, Hugo saw a golden opportunity to expand and grow the foundation created by Harold while furthering his passion for riding motorcycles. Hugo’s keen business insight was developed over the last 30 years through his diverse business experience. Prior to acquiring CCC, Hugo served as Clareity Security’s Chief Financial Officer, where Hugo was instrumental in facilitating its sale to CoreLogic. As CFO, he not only served as head of all financial reporting and accounting but oversaw all human resource and general administrative activity. Hugo’s business acumen was important in ensuring company contracts comported with the business activity it was meant to represent. Therefore, he served as Clareity’s de facto in-house counsel working closely with the company’s outside counsel or other party’s counsel. Hugo also brings with him strong computer and technological skills and a robust understanding and experience in inventory control and inventory management. Hugo believes this team structure is the right formula for providing excellent customer service, quality and timely motorcycles repairs and for expanding a successful business.
